While the radio starts playing Christmas songs the day after Thanksgiving, one way to observe the season of Advent is to wait to go all out on Christmas songs until Christmas Eve and the 12 days of Christmas. Instead, during Advent, you can sing or listen to traditional Advent Carols and modern Advent songs. These include songs such as:

How is Advent going for you? As we sometimes get caught up in the preparations for Christmas, maybe take 5 minutes in silence each day to spend time in prayer. Jesus always wants to hear from you! We are celebrating the birth of Jesus in the past, anticipating his arrival at the Second Coming in the future, and building a heart for Jesus in the present.
One way to continue to prepare ourselves for Advent is by receiving the Sacrament of Reconciliation and praying with Our Lord in Eucharistic Adoration. You can do both these things at Holy Spirit on Wednesday December 16 & 23 from 5:30-6:30 PM @ Holy Spirit.

The third week of Advent is Rejoice! or Gaudete (in Latin). We rejoice as we wait for the Savior with joyful anticipation. Where do you see joy in your life? How are you sharing joy with others?
Dear Lord,
Prepare our hearts and remove the sadness that hinders us from feeling the joy and hope which Your presence, and living for You will bestow.
