On this fifth anniversary of my ordination to the priesthood, I am very grateful to serve as your pastor at St. Mary’s and for the gift of my priesthood. The last two weeks in our Diocese prove that there is nothing "ordinary" about Ordinary Time. After the passing of Bishop David Choby, Fr. Mike Johnston was elected as the Administrator of the Diocese until such time as a new bishop is appointed by Rome. Last Friday, Fr. Andy Forsythe and Fr. Joe Fessenden were ordained to the priesthood at the Cathedral of Incarnation.
I will be away this weekend for a family wedding and later in the month for vacation. Fr. John Hammond has graciously agreed to cover Masses at St. Mary’s in my absence. Please give him your warmest welcome. Pray for me in my absence, and be assured of my prayers for you. --Fr. Jayd Neely, Pastor
With downtown businesses closed for the Fourth of July holiday, there will be no 12:10 Mass at St. Mary next Tuesday, July 4.

Totus Tuus is a fun, energetic week-long program designed to spread the Good News of Christ and create enthusiasm for the faith among our young people. Missionary teams of four college students and seminarians reach out to their younger counterparts to give witness to the faith.

The Tennessee Holocaust Commission* will offer a three-day seminar, Building Bridges, July 26 - 28 to assist Catholic school educators in teaching about the Holocaust, antisemitism, and their lasting effects on contemporary society. This is a free, approved professional development course for teachers in the Diocese. Continental breakfast and lunch provided. Held at the Temple on Harding Road. St. Mary's office is approached daily for help from the homeless and downtrodden. One easy way for us to show the love of Christ and kindness are by offering a meal or a ride. Please drop gift cards and bus passes in the collection basket.
