Brothers:
A week from today we celebrate the day of Christ's arrival -- Christmas. Are you prepared?
The following is from Deacon Leo with the final set of reflection questions for the Luke Gospel. Some of you may have already received these from Tom Pyden in a email yesterday (thank Tom for sending):
Deacon Leo writes:
Here we are into the home stretch, I hope this finds you well. These are the reflection questions to take you into the last chapter.
Ch. 17 v.4 Who do I have the hardest time forgiving for the way they treat me?
Who stands right now in need of my forgiveness?
Ch. 18 v14 What do I see of myself in the Pharisee? In the tax collector? What is the main lesson of Jesus' parable for me?
Ch. 19 v32 What has Jesus sent me to do? How have things worked out when
I have accepted his Word and followed his instructions?
Ch. 20 v21. What have I learned from Jesus' teachings in the Gospel of Luke
about the Way of God for me?
Ch. 21 v11 To what extent am I able to watch the news with a calm confidence
that God is ultimately in charge? That he will bring me safely to
Himself?
Ch. 22 v44. What insight into Jesus am I given by Luke's portrayal of Him
struggling fervently in prayer?
Ch 23 v27 What emotions do I experience when I read a Gospel account of
Jesus' crucifixion or meditate on His death?
Ch 24 Please reflect on the questions after reading the chapter:
None of the four Gospels describes the actual resurrection of Jesus
Why do I think that they are silent about something so important?
Jesus' final act on earth was asking God's blessings upon His
disciples. What does this reveal to me about Jesus?
God's Blessings to you and your families. May the Spirit of this Christmas season abide in your hearts through the coming New Year.
