Dear St. Joseph Parish Family,
Merry Christmas! I pray that you all have a blessed Christmas day and season! Christ is born for us today and we all celebrate the salvation He has won for us. It all began with a little child and a family– God does great deeds with what the world considers small and humble. Jesus comes to us today too, not only 2,000 years ago. Let us welcome Christ into our lives anew and may the graces He wants to give us transform our lives and lead us to holiness. His salvation is still at work in every soul that turns to Him and returns His love. Let this Christmas be a privileged time for us to come closer to Jesus in our lives.
January 1st is the Solemnity of Mary the Mother of God. Normally it’s a holy day of obligation, but it is not so this year because of the pandemic.
Sunday, January 3rd, is Epiphany. Before the Saturday 5:30 Vigil Mass, at 5 pm, we’ll bless the Epiphany water, which is a special type of holy water. It’s what we use throughout the year in the holy water dispenser. You can fill up your holy water containers with it throughout the year. The blessing itself is long but beautiful and you are welcome to join us in the church for the blessing.
I’ll be visiting my family after Christmas and I’ll be back at St. Joe’s on January 5th.
Merry Christmas,
Fr. Boniface
