This Christmas morning, Nashville was rocked by a large explosion on Second Avenue around 6:30 am. St. Mary of the Seven Sorrows Church has no visible damage, but roads are closed throughout downtown, making it virtually impossible for most people to get to Christmas Mass at 12:10 today. No fatalities or critical injuries have been reported; the FBI is investigating the cause of the explosion.
I am currently at the church and will say the 12:10 Mass for anyone who shows up. If you do not live downtown, you will most likely not be able to get to the church. Also, just a friendly reminder that the bishop’s dispensation for attendance at Mass is still in effect.

We have much to pray for this Christmas! May God bless and protect you and your loved ones this day and throughout the New Year.
