On January 1, 2021, we celebrate the Solemnity of Mary, Holy Mother of God, a holy day of obligation. The Mass schedule is as follows:
Thursday, December 31, at 7:00 p.m. (Vigil Mass)
Thursday, December 31, at 11:00 p.m. (Night Mass)
Friday, January 1, at 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. (Noon)
All Masses will be celebrated in the Church.
Then on Sunday, January 3, we will celebrate the Epiphany of the Lord with our regular weekend Mass schedule. At the 10:00 a.m. Mass we will have the Solemn Blessing of the doors of the Church. If you would like to celebrate your own house blessing for 2021, there are packets of blessed chalk with an Epiphany prayer in the back of the Church.
Thanks to all who contributed to the beautiful poinsettias that decorate the Church and Chapel. The flowers can be picked up next week Sunday, January 10, after the 12:00 p.m. (Noon) Mass in the Church or on Monday, January 11, after 9:00 a.m. in the Chapel. We also need men and women to assist with undecorating the Church and Chapel on Monday, January 11.
Also, during the month of January, Sacred Heart will be collecting items for the homeless. Those items include new socks (all sizes), blankets (gently used or new), and toiletries. Beginning January 10, there will be bins in the back of the church to drop off your donations.
Again, I want to thank you for your generosity to Sacred Heart and I wish everyone a Blessed and Holy New Year!
Peace,
Father Potts
