My dear friends of Immaculate Heart of Mary,
A blessed New Year 2021!
Tomorrow the parish will switch to an 8:30 AM Mass only in the morning for Saturdays and Holidays, since it is First Saturday. After Mass the Sacrament of Confession will be offered, as usually occurs on Saturday mornings and will continue to be available.
Only on First Saturdays, to benefit from the beautiful and powerful devotion, the Sacrament of Reconciliation will be offered also before Mass from 8:00-8:30 AM.
This weekend the Church celebrates the Feast of the Epiphany of the Lord early (the 12th Day of Christmas) and at the Saturday 5:30 PM Vigil Mass, Bishop James Massa, Rector of Saint Joseph Seminary in Yonkers, will be with us to liturgically Install Carlos Germosen, our seminarian on his Pastoral Year experience, in the Ministry of Acolyte. It is one of the significant steps before Ordination to the Diaconate and Priesthood.
The Church instructs us about this new step: that he may fulfill his responsibilities more worthily, Carlos should take part in the celebration of the Eucharist with ever increasing devotion, as the source of their spiritual life and the object of an ever-deeper appreciation. He should seek to acquire an interior and spiritual sense of their ministry so that each day he may offer himself wholly to God and grow in sincere love for the Mystical Body of Christ, the people of God, and especially for the members who are weak and infirm.
What a beautiful disposition for all of us!
