Mark your CalendarsSaturday, August 5th, during the 5:00pm Vigil Mass, St. Mark's will host an evening of Anointing of the Sick for seniors. Both Fr. John Love and Fr. Philip Bernier, OFM, cap will be hand to anoint* all interested.
Following dinner, students at St. Mark's will host and serve a delicious summer dinner for all.
If interested in attending the dinner, please be sure and sign up after Mass with name and number attending, or simply call in your reservation to our front office at (805) 968-1078. You can also email your reservation for anointing and dinner to
stmarksucsb@gmail.com.* Generally, the Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick is reserved for those who are seriously ill or injured, but it is also appropriate for those who are just getting on in years and feel as if they could use an extra dose of God's good grace for healing and peace. If you have doubts about your readiness for anointing, please talk to one of the priests. Please note that this is NOT "last rites"! Rather, Anointing of the Sick is a prayer and sacrament for healing.
