May the Peace and Joy of Mary and Joseph be your as we adore the new born Jesus!
Tuesday, January 12th at 7:00 pm, St. Scholastica will be having an All-Parish Meeting. This meeting is extremely important for the future of St. Scholastica.
The purpose of this meeting is:
1) to give a brief update on the New Property,
2) to state what is needed to accomplish our goal of having regularly scheduled Mass and Sacraments at the New Property
3) to receive your input for developing a site plan for the new property.
The Site Plan establishes the lay-out for the future campus and provides the foundation for the Master Plan. Specific designs and Architectural features for each of the buildings will come much later in the design phase. The inputs and suggestions that we receive through this meeting will be critical for us to finalizing the site plan. The site plan will drive how the Master Plan is laid out. Both the Master Plan and Site Plan are required for the special review permitting process with Weld County and ultimately lay-out the roadmap in developing the New Property. Having Mass at the New Property on a regularly scheduled basis and obtaining all the necessary permits could happen in as little as 9 months - it could take more as well. Come to the meeting to find out the details.
The Master Plan uses the Site Plan to determine how utilities are brought on to the site, traffic flow, number and types of buildings, construction phases and construction costs. The Master Plan also incorporates St. Scholastica's requirements, needs, desires and dreams that were defined in the Site Planning stage and will be referenced over the next 20 to 30 years of development.
Attached to this Flocknote are the very preliminary site plan sketches that have been worked up for our discussions and provide us some ideas. Each draft sketch has what the end campus will look like, what the first stage will accomplish, and proposed stages for developing the campus. Included is a PDF file you can use to modify one of the existing plans or develop a different plan that would be more efficient or practical. The Committee and the Contractor will use your comments and designs to generate a final Site Plan.
Be prepared for the meeting by reviewing all the layouts prior to the meeting and come with your thoughts, ideas, and dreams. If you are unable to attend the meeting, please e-mail your thoughts, ideas, dreams, suggestions and concerns to the Building Committee (buildingcommittee@stscholasticaerie.org)
- or print them up, mark them up and turn them in at the meeting
- or drop them off at the Parish Office
- please have your ideas into the Parish Office by Jan 18.
We are hoping for a large amount of input and ideas from our parishioners. Unfortunately, we are not able to host this meeting at the new property but are making preparations to have more events at the New Property in the future.
