Dear Parents, Guardians, and Students,
Thank you for your response to the survey indicating your third-quarter preference for schooling. With the data provided in addition to determining numbers in each classroom, we have determined that we can safely provide four-day in-person instruction to those who elected that option. These in-person learning days will occur on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.
In some of the classes, in order to provide proper social distancing, we will need to relocate some students to an overflow classroom. In these situations, students would be selected for the school week to remote into their scheduled class from the overflow classroom.
Remote learners will continue to remote into their classrooms synchronously on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.
By Monday of next week, we will share with you more detailed information about the plans for Wednesdays when all students will be remote.
Again, we thank you for your support and understanding as we work to provide the best educational options for your student.

All fully remote seniors, please check your email for a message from Mrs. Strippy, asking you to confirm how your name will be printed on your diploma and announced at graduation. She also needs you to reply with your height and weight for gown sizing. Thank you!

Homeroom
- Tuesday, Jan. 19 from 8:00-8:07am for distribution of the second semester schedules.
- Friday, Jan. 22 from 8:00-8:07am for the distribution of the Course Recommendation Forms. Students will return to homeroom at 2:50 pm for the forms to be collected.

Course Recommendations
Course Recommendation Day will occur on Friday, January 22. Students will report to homerooms at the beginning of the day. Teachers will sign off on their recommendations for courses for the 2021-2022 academic year. Completed forms will be returned to the student’s homeroom teacher at the end of the day. All students learning remotely will have their forms completed by the teachers electronically and will not have a form to complete. Teachers will have conversations with all students in regards to their recommendation prior to signing off on the form.
THE PANTHER'S CLAW NEWS - Reminder
Submit a written work for publication in the Panther's Claw, EC's literary magazine. Please email submissions to litmag@elyriacatholic.com by January 31.
This will be an ongoing section to keep you informed of any cases or exposure among our faculty/staff and students and how the community is doing with masks, hygiene, social distancing and disinfecting. If there is a positive case at school we will be communicating with you.*
