Holy Spirit is looking for volunteers to purchase and assemble sack lunches for St. Mary’s Food Kitchen for the second Friday of each month. Please contact Maryanne Behm at (913)730-8777 to sign up!
Holy Spirit School Registration!
Parishioners who do not currently have children at Holy Spirit will have the opportunity to enroll, beginning Tuesday, January 19th for Preschool through 8th Grade. On February 1st, the school will begin accepting out of parish applications. Holy Spirit will be hosting a Food Drive for Catholic Charities this Tuesday, January 19th & Wednesday, January 20th. A truck will be in the parking lot to receive your donations from 9 AM -7 PM both of these days. Please, no donations between 3:00 & 3:30 PM. Please no glass or perishable food items.
Most needed items are canned fruit, fruit juice, peas, misc. veggies (no green beans or corn), and pinto beans.
In recognition of the National Day of Prayer for the Legal Protection of the Unborn and the 48th anniversary of Roe vs. Wade, please join the Bishops of Kansas in prayer via the Livestreamed Kansas Mass for Life on Jan. 21st at 10:30 a.m. www.livestream.com/ArchKCK/KSMassforLife All are welcome to join the Kansas March for Life in-person beginning at 12:00 pm in front of the Topeka Performing Arts Center, 214 SE Eighth Ave, Topeka. The march will end at the Capitol steps for the Kansans for Life Rally. On Thursday, January 28th, Archbishop Naumann will be the main Celebrant and Homilist of the National Prayer Vigil for Life in Washington DC. EWTN will televise the Vigil starting at 7:30 pm CST. Have you ever turned around to someone at home and said, “What?” Only to have them say, “I didn’t say anything.” Most of the time we just shrug that off, right? Can you imagine Samuel sleeping in his room? Three times he heard someone calling him. Finally, it dawned on him. God was calling him! As we near the beginning of the Archbishop’s Call to Share appeal, take some time to be still, to be quiet and listen to the Lord. Listen to what He is saying and how you will support the Archbishop’s Call to Share appeal this year.
Archbishop Naumann will be offering Lenten reflections that will provide spiritual nourishment for our journey to Easter. Reflections will be available the beginning the week of Ash Wednesday.
