Church Office Closed for Part of August
The long-awaited HVAC work for the sanctuary will begin soon. We are being told that the work should begin on 8/9 and go for two weeks. During that time, we will have limited access to the office and Ann will be working from other locations in the building. She will be checking phone and email messages throughout the day remotely.We will communicate with you throughout the process so you know when it is safe to once again pop into the office. Thank you!
VBS at St. Mark's

"We have now harvested over 500 lbs of fresh produce from our Ross giving garden! The garden is truly a delight this year -- growing strong! St. Mark's is up next week to tend the garden, so please come join us for work sessions Sat (7/29) 9-11 am, Wed (8/2) 9-11 am, and Thurs (8/3) 6-7:30 pm."
- Please mark your calendars for future garden weeks for St. Mark's, each week beginning with these Saturdays and running through to the following Friday: Aug 19, Sept 9, Sept 30, Oct 21. Our church partners would welcome your help during their assigned weeks.
- Back to Nature has been a wonderful partner, so please stop in and make your garden purchases there.

Sale Dates: Friday, September 15th from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm and Saturday, September 16th from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm.
Clean up: Saturday, September 16th at 2:30 pm.

Buildings & Ground Projects
One of this year’s goals of the Buildings and Grounds commissions is to complete many items on our “to do” list. If you have not seen it yet, there is a poster on the Parish Hall wall near the kitchen that lists all the items that we are trying to complete. To complete these items, we need your help.
- Each item has a rough estimate of what the cost would be to complete the item.
- Some items need to be done by a contractor, some can be done by a work party, and some can be done either way.
- Each item needs an owner to coordinate the parts of the item to completion. This could involve getting estimates from contractors and working with the contractor to complete the item. It could be getting the necessary materials to do the item and organizing a work party to complete the item.
What you can do:
- You can volunteer to fund part or all an item.
- You can volunteer to be the owner of an item to make sure it gets completed.
- You can volunteer to help the owner of the item.
So please look at the list and let me know if you can help any of the above ways.

Saturdays in Somerville
Looking for a rewarding community service project for you and your children? Come join us again to distribute food in Somerville for the Food Bank Network of Somerset County!
Each Saturday morning during September, Jackie Taylor heads up a small team of volunteers at the United Reformed Church, 100 West Main Street in Somerville to prep and hand out non perishables and fresh produce to local families in need who don't make it to the Food Bank during weekdays. This is a super opportunity for teen community service, and your kids are welcome to bring along friends to help out and make it fun!
