Our Condolences
Paul Bui's father passed away suddenly last night (Friday). He had been in the hospital since before Christmas due to Covid-19. The following note is from Paula Bui:
Paul’s dad passed away a couple of hours ago, just after getting transferred from Tempe St Lukes to the rehab facility/ hospital. He was doing really well today. They said it was either spontaneous pneumothorax or a pulmonary embolism. Please pray for Paul’s mom (who is still by herself at a different rehab facility) and the whole family.
Jesus, we pray for Grace and Mercy upon the Bui Family and eternal rest for Paul's Dad. Be present with them in their hour of need! Blessed Mother, pray for them. Amen

These 7 COTL members who attended the Alleluia School of Spiritual Direction have completed two years of prayer and study. The program included six weeks of intense spiritual training, making an eight-day silent retreat, and sixteen weeks exercising their training in Spiritual Direction as well. They are currently with the Alleluia Community preparing to graduate on Saturday 23rd -- and would greatly appreciate your prayers as they take this important step. The newly installed Bishop of Savannah, the Rev. Stephen Drake will preside at the ceremony. Dan Almeter, an Elder of Alleluia, and 3 others will be graduating with them.
Prayer cover is also needed for Mike and Beverly Firmin, co-leaders and primary teachers at the school. Both are suffering with serious health issues at this time. Bev had to be hospitalized unexpectedly on Monday for follow up surgery due to a serious infection, so please include those who are stepping up to fill in for her at this time.
Leadership Affirmation Ballot:
All Covenant members should have received their ballots. IF THEY WERE NOT PICKED UP AT THE 1/17 GCG, THEY WERE MAILED TO YOU ON 1/18. If you did not receive your ballot, contact Lori at the office or by replying to this Flocknote.
BALLOTS MUST BE RETURNED BY JANUARY 31ST.
All Arizona Branch Covenant Members are being asked to vote to affirm the nominees for Senior Coordinator (SC) and Presiding Senior Woman Leader for a new four year period of service, as well as to affirm the three current coordinators and two remaining Senior Women Leaders (SWL) for this same period of service. Doris Martinez will be stepping down as a SWL and also as Presiding SWL effective February 1, 2021.
The Coordinators and SWL who are currently in training are being advanced to "Provisional Coordinator" and "Provisional SWL" status for 2021 for final discernment and training, and will become full Coordinators and full SWL if they are affirmed by the Covenant Members in January 2022

Fr. Dave Pivonka will be in Tempe for Mass and Talks to our Community! This year, due to concerns over travel and housing expressed by members of our California Branches, (as well as AZ Branch members), the Convocation will be available in a virtual format online and on-site at our building but limited to 50 attendees on-site. We are working on technology to provide the best experience possible for online breakout rooms to facilitate discussions and relationship building!
Families with Children: Due to feedback received from young families with children there will no childcare at the center for this event due to a lack of desire to attend in person. Also due to the limited time frame of the event, there will be no food service

It's all good news! He is much better - going to go to therapy (not sure as outpatient - or still in the hospital) and will be taking some sort of machine home with him to help with his oxygen level. Praise God!
I just talked to Maggie Farmer and she and Don both had it in December. She had few symptoms but Don was pretty sick and very tired with fever for days.

(The following is from Mike Shaughnessy last week)
I am in ER. I woke up with neuropathy in arms and legs. I was walking into urgent care and legs totally collapsed. Broke multiple bones and my ankle. Pretty ugly, lying on the sidewalk in the falling snow.EMS brought me to the hospital. The bones will heal. The neuropathy is the real concern.
Please pray for healing for Mike and restoration from the effects of Covid-19 as well!.
