Happy Friday Family of Families,
It is our hope that you had a wonderful week. We have many exciting things going on and starting at the parish to spiritually feed us. Please read the bulletin for details about all activities, studies, and events going on. We would like to highlight the following as important announcements:
- Everyone is encouraged to join the group study in preparation for Consecration to St. Joseph. Lead by Rudy Sanchez, the class will consist of six classes from 6PM -7:30PM and culminate with the Consecration to St. Joseph on March 19th, the Solemnity of St. Joseph either at 8AM or 7PM that day. Classes begin February 4th and will meet every Thursday. Full details are in the bulletin.
- Many have expressed trouble hearing the audio during our livestream Masses. We have spent some time working on it this week and have done a few tests. We believe that the issues have been resolved and your audio and visual experience will be much better this weekend.
- Each year, the Archbishop asks Pastors and Administrators to bestow upon an individual Catholic member (or couple) of their parish who has “demonstrated by their life, service, and ministry a participation in the mission of Christ Jesus and the Church.” This year we are pleased to announce that the 2021 Lumen Gentium Award is bestowed upon David and Cathy Schick for their dedication and service to St. Jerome parish. David and Cathy will be recognized formally next Saturday, January 30th at the 5PM Mass. Congratulations
- This Wednesday, January 27, 2020, the vocations committee will be leading a holy hour for vocations to include the rosary from 5 PM - 6 PM in the day. This is a beautiful devotion started by our very own seminarian Dalton Moy.
- Our Faith Formation classes are beginning their annual seminarian letter project. We are looking for donations to include with them such as stamps, laundry supplies (i.e. tide pods, fabric softener, etc), toiletries, candy, snacks, gift cards for ($25 to HEB, Walmart, Amazon, Visa). We hope to be able to provide each seminarian with a gift card including our very own Dalton Moy. Please drop these supplies off directly to the CCD office on Sunday mornings, to the parish office, and/or the sacristy. Because we are asking for gift cards for seminarians we do not want to have a basket to place these in. If you would rather make a monetary donation to help with this project we will be happy to accept this as well. These are needed before February 7th, 2021. Please contact Jessica Lubianski (210) 400-5683 regarding donations to this project.
- This year Scouts BSA Troop 315 are again selling 15-5-10 plus 5% iron Lawn Fertilizer as a major fundraiser, for $15 per 50lb bag. This will make a great addition to the health and color of your lawn. We have been selling this fertilizer and helping pay for summer camp for 15 years since 2006. This year to order fertilizer you can order it from any Scout BSA Boy or Girl from Troop 315, or call or text Mirette Pichardo at 210-885-1470. If no answer please leave an order on voicemail and you will be called back for payment details. Last day to order is 23 Feb 2021. The fertilizer will be available for pick up on Saturday 6 March 2021between 8 – 11 AM in the church parking lot. We deeply appreciate all the support that St Jerome Parish continues to provide to scouting! Have a great yard this year and be proud of the fact that you are sending a scout to summer camp! Thanks for your continued support. Questions call Bill Thoms at 210-415-5906.
