Hello, Faith Filled Families!
It's Ash Wednesday, the beginning of our journey to Easter!
Thank you to all of you who submitted your Lenten plans! Well done! I am happy to see many concrete, manageable, measurable ideas!
I am resending the Lent Lesson for those who have not yet completed the lesson, which will guide you through making a plan of prayer, fasting and almsgiving (charity). I hope it inspires you to make the time between today and Easter one that will bring you lasting joy.
Do take time to check St. James' website for the many opportunities to receive ashes. I have noticed a number of families returning to mass, after many months of watching at home, and it fills me with joy! Families are sitting physically distant from others, all are wearing masks, and extra space is left in communion lines. There is no need to reserve a spot at mass since our numbers remain low. We have many parishioners who are attending weekday masses instead of weekend to decrease the chance of exposure to germs. I hope you step out in faith during Lent!
May God bless, protect, and strengthen your family!
