It is with excitement, but also sadness, that I tell you I have accepted a job teaching Middle School Religion at Blessed Trinity in Richfield. After much prayer and thought, I am confident that this is where God has called me to serve next.
This past spring, I shared with our Confirmation candidates one of the reasons I am most grateful to be Catholic: the Church has been there for me through every major event in my life. This parish, in particular, has been such a huge part of the past four and a half years. So many of you greeted me, encouraged me, and welcomed me into your homes. You prayed for me when I had surgery, offered your condolences at the deaths of my grandparents, and rejoiced with me when I got engaged and married Joe. Belonging to the Catholic Church is a tremendous gift.
Though it is hard to leave the work after so many years and en-trust it to another, I am so excited to pass my position on to your new Youth Minister, Michelle. I prayed a lot that we would find someone well qualified to take on my job, and Michelle is everything I had hoped for in a successor. I am also very happy for her, as I know she will be blessed by this parish as I have been.
I am so grateful for the time God has given me here at Our Lady of the Lake. I am especially thankful for the support of my wonderful co-workers and for the tireless help of our many Confirmation catechists and youth ministry volunteers. Please pray for me as I continue to pray for you.
In His mercy,
Theresa Rider
