ALL Ash Wednesday services are cancelled due to:
--There is too much remaining snow & ice around the entrances to the church that I fear will still be around later this afternoon.
--There is no guarantee the church will have electricity later today with these rolling black outs of electricity.
--I make this decision to cancel all Ash Wednesday services for our safety.
I am cancelling also tomorrow’s 8:30 am Thursday Mass (Feb. 18).
My goal is to have this Friday’s 8:30 am Mass (Feb. 19).
Due to the electricity challenge, I am cancelling this Friday’s 7 pm Stations of the Cross (Feb. 19). (If you have access to the internet, do an internet search to do Stations of the Cross from home.)
The Knights of Columbus have cancelled this Friday’s Fish Dinner (Feb. 19).
In the absence of any Ash Wednesday’s services here at St. Maximilian Kolbe, please do at least one of the following:
1)If you have access to the internet, do an internet search to find an Ash Wednesday Mass that is video taped & then watch it.
2)Give thanks for our respective blessings.
3)Say any prayer for those who are affected by this cold spree in any adverse way.
4)Say any prayer for our police officers, fire fighters, EMS and medical personnel, etc.
5)Reach out to someone to see if that person is OK or needs anything.
6)Or anything you so choose to do for prayer, fasting & almsgiving.
Remember Ash Wednesday is day of fasting & abstinence!
St. Maximilian Kolbe, pray for us!
