The class really worked hard on their persuasive papers this week! I'm really happy with the way they turned out.
We do not have any early outs next week.
Please send the conference sheets back by Friday the 26th. You can email me if you have any questions
cspears@sjknights.org.
Next week in math we'll continue practicing fluency, then work on subtracting 3-digit numbers with regrouping. We'll look at the different and quickest ways to subtract.
We'll read lesson 16 "Mr. Tanen's Tie Trouble," during reading and Daily 4 with an additional focus on homographs, pronouns, and story structure. The class will also begin writing a fictional narrative. During science the class will create pinwheels and look at how they can be used to observe the wind. We will continue our lesson on bravery, and then discuss the story about Ruby Bridges.
This class has been great considering they didn't have an outside recess all week! I've included some pictures of inside recess (we hope we don't have any next week), and our pellet drums from the Chinese New Year. Please let me know if you have any questions. Have a wonderful weekend!
