The Light Is On For You...
During Lent, Confessions will be heard
on Fridays from 3:30 to 4:30 pm.
The Holy Hour program in Lent is in lieu of the 3 to 6 pm Eucharistic Adoration.
Holy Cross Day at the 40 Days for Life Prayer Vigil will be on Sunday, March 7 from 1pm - 6pm. Sign-up for a time to join us in peaceful prayer at the Wildwood Medical Center at 10401 Old Georgetown Road in Bethesda. Join with other parishioners in praying for the end to abortion at the late-term abortion clinic in our own backyard. Make this peaceful prolife action be part of your Lenten sacrifice this year. Let us know if you would like a ride by calling Barbara or Dave Ruppert at 301 933-7646.

Digital Art Show! Deadline extended to March 15!
In honor of our 60th Anniversary, we will be publishing a digital show with your creative submissions! Thank you to everyone who has submitted. We have received some amazing works of art!
Create a work of art, write a poem, or a short paragraph or submit a photo that expresses "What Holy Cross Means To Me." Every parishioner and student of any age is called, and you can submit your work as an individual or as a family.
Take a picture of your work and send it in png or jpg format (maximum file size 512mb) to hc60anniversary@gmail.com.
Submissions will be subject to review for content and appropriateness prior to publication. A submission indicates permission for Holy Cross Church to publish the content on the parish website.
All entries will be placed into a random drawing for a winner to receive a special item of Holy Cross spirit wear!
Care for Creation and Environmental Stewardship:
Low-income families spend 550% more as a percent of income on energy costs than other non-low income Marylanders. Substandard, energy inefficient housing is one important reason for that disparity. Maryland has used the emPOWER program to bring greater energy efficiency for Maryland homes, but that program has not reached the low-income families who need it most. A bill (HB379/SB462) has been introduced to fix that problem by specifically setting energy efficiency targets in the emPOWER program for low income to be used for low-income residential weatherization. Please consider telling your State Delegates and Senator to vote for HB379 and SB462 to help low-income Maryland families reduce their energy costs.
