Our Update+ from last week contained information from Sadlier on preparing children for First Eucharist. It was brought to our attention that there were several errors in the handout that was attached.
Those errors have been corrected and you will find the revised handout at the end of the following article.
January seems to be check-in time for all the publishers. Sadlier was particularly eager to do something for our Diocese so we suggested something that you could forward to parents of children preparing for First Eucharist. Below you will find a 30 minute webinar by John Collins along with the handout he references in the video. As a parent/grandparent/educator/catechist John certainly has some credibility and reinforces what we have been trying to share with parents. By far the most important part is the Alice Chase poem that he uses to talk about Catholic identity and parents as “teachers” of their children. Please reply with your comments so I can share them with John and Sadlier.
