Consecration to St. Joseph
This Lent, members of St. Elizabeth Sodality are participating in a 33-day, self-directed retreat for consecration to St. Joseph, and all members of the parish are invited to participate as well. On December 8, 2020, Pope Francis released an Apostolic Letter in which he recalled the 150th anniversary of the declaration of St. Joseph as Patron of the Universal Church. To mark the occasion, the Holy Father has proclaimed a "Year of Saint Joseph" from December 8, 2020 to December 8, 2021. As Pope Francis wrote, "[t]he aim of this Apostolic Letter is to increase our love for this great saint, to encourage us to implore his intercession and to imitate his virtues and his zeal." St. E's Sodality will be using the book Consecration To St. Joseph: The Wonders of Our Spiritual Father by Fr. Donald H. Calloway. The first day of the retreat is Monday, February 15th, and will conclude on March 19th -- St. Joseph's Feast Day. Each day of the self-directed retreat contains approximately 20 minutes of reading. We will also meet as a group once a week via Zoom for about an hour and will hold a consecration ceremony on the last day, Friday, March 19th. Fr. Calloway's book, Consecration To St. Joseph: The Wonders of Our Spiritual Father, is available for order at http://www.consecrationtostjoseph.org and from Barnes and Noble. The ebook is also available from Amazon.
