Why do we bury the dead?

This week I briefly delve into the Corporal Work: Bury the Dead. It may seem odd that his was added to the Corporal Works since Jesus does not mention it in Matthew 25, but there is a very good reasons it is in here. I give you a brief explanation in my video this week.

Stations at Home!

Our Elementary Formation director, Corinne Cathcart, along with some amazing volunteers, has put together this virtual Stations of the Cross. Spend 20 minutes with your family this week participating in stations with this wonderful video.

March Week 1:

Each week you will receive a thought provoking question that has to do with the themes for the month. This month, the themes are Bury the Dead, and the Catholic Social Teaching: Rights and Responsibilities

Use your journal to privately respond to the question. You may also find it beneficial to have your journal handy for the Sunday Night lessons.

Here is your journal question for this week:

-What is the point of a funeral if the person who has died no longer has a corporeal presence to say goodbye?

Mental Health

If you are struggling mentally, I encourage you to reach out to a licensed health professional to talk, seek advice, or any other help you might need. It is difficult for us to be united as a church if we do not feel whole inside. Partners in Change has set up a series of local doctors to speak once a month via Google Meet. The first speaker is Dr. Karen Stanley-Kime. She will speak on March 11th about Post Traumatic Growth. Follow the link below to register for free to the Partners in Change speakers.

We all approach our mental health differently. It is universally accepted, however, that we need some kind of outlet. My brother, a physician in New York, recently shared with me an app called Gris, which has helped him deal with the death, long hours, and stress he has experienced and witnessed in the past 10 months.
