St. Thomas More Catholic School lost a treasured teacher and friend on February 27th. Mrs. Melissa Craig left us all with heavy hearts. Mrs. Craig dedicated 35 years of education excellence to our school and taught generations of STM families.
Mrs. Craig was known for her love of American history and guided students through the years with the History Fair and essay contests. Many students went on to regional and state competitions and some even to nationals! Their achievements were mirrored by Mrs. Craig’s hard work and dedication to their success.
Outside of the classroom, Mrs. Craig tutored many students to help them achieve their potential. She was also always willing to volunteer and help out. She never missed an STM fundraiser and was admired for her willingness to work a drive-thru or run a race if it meant STM benefited in some way.
At home, Mrs. Craig was the loving mother of three children. She exemplified the balance of teacher and mother, as demonstrated by the love and devotion of her children. She was very creative and loved doing crafts, but what won everyone over was her big heart and kind soul. She will be deeply missed by all those who knew her and loved her.
