The Circle of Grace curriculum is part of the Archdiocese of Detroit’s ongoing effort to create and maintain a safe environment for children and protect them from sexual abuse. The curriculum is designed to be taught in religious education classes annually. Due to the disruption caused by Covid-19, we are asking you to partner with us and teach this important lesson at home. This partnership between you and the parish provides a strong and secure safety net for all children and helps empower them to make safe choices.
To assist in delivering the lessons, resources for parents are provided. Please read over the packet in the link below and use the questions and activities as a springboard for a discussion with your child about how they are made in the image and likeness of God, that God wants them to be safe even more than we can imagine, and that God puts people in their lives (parents and trusted adults like teachers, grandparents, etc.) to help them be safe and help them if something bad does occur.
Families with multiple children are encouraged to separate them during these lessons since the content for older children may not be suitable for all. Once you have completed the age-appropriate lesson plan(s), please fill out the form below.
Thank you so very much for taking the time to share this important lesson with your children! Please do not hesitate to reach out to me with any questions!
Blessings!
