St. Bartholomew the Apostle Catholic Church
Parish Family Prayers
This month we will walk a personal pilgrimage with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ along the Via Dolorosa from Pontius Pilate's praetorium to Golgotha.
This week we reflect upon the first three stations of the cross:
Jesus is condemned to death
Jesus takes up his cross
Jesus falls the first time
Jesus, who took upon Himself our sufferings and carried our sorrows so as to lead us through the cross to the glory of the resurrection, help us not to drag, but embrace, each cross given to us from the hands of our heavenly Father.
Jesus, you stand alone before Pilate; your life was devoted to helping others, yet no one speaks for you, nobody defends you.
Help us, Lord, to be grateful for what you have done for us. Help us to accept criticism and unfairness without complaint. Help us to forgive others who hurt us.
Christ, our blessed redeemer, teach us to join your way of the cross to our way of life. You are our hope. You are our God. You are our Savior.
Amen.
