Dear Epiphany parishioners,
I just wanted to check in with you during this particular phase of the pandemic and our community's recovery efforts. It has been a year since the world and the church began responding to the pandemic with certain safety protocols. While some of the adjustments we have made have been difficult at times, they have served to mitigate the spread of the virus when we gather as a congregation to worship the Lord our God.
In light of the recent executive order by Governor Greg Abbott that allows Texas businesses to reopen at 100%, our local shepherd, Daniel Cardinal DiNardo has determined that the Archdiocese will maintain all of our current COVID-19 protocols, including the requirement for face coverings at Mass and other liturgical celebrations. The Archdiocese is not changing any of our current safety measures at this time.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your spirit-filled support, perseverance, and faithful adherence to the safety measures we have implemented here at Epiphany. For many of us, continuing these safety practices will allow us to continue to worship at Mass (and as we enter into Holy Week this month) with the peace of mind that we are protecting ourselves as well as those most vulnerable among us. With patience and grace, we will continue to make sacrifices, which are in accordance to our faith and the spirit of Lent. Let us continue to pray for deliverance from the pandemic, for all of our frontline service personnel, for those who are ill and for their recovery, and for all of our loved ones we have lost. And may Almighty God bless our community for our faith in Him and our Christ-like response to the challenges of our time.
Faithfully yours in Christ,
Fr. Tom Lam
