Hi there, everyone! Hope you're having a great week! Here's my Friday Flocknote for this week....
1) Readings at Mass: Just a reminder that with the celebration of the RCIA Scrutinies the RCIA elect at Mass on the 3rd, 4th, & 5th Sunday's of Lent if you are at a Mass that I am presiding at you will hear the Year A readings (that are always read when the Scrutinies are celebrated). The Lectionary provides the option for a presider to use the same readings at all the Masses he has, rather than writing 2 separate homilies. If the Mass is presided at by Fr. Clyde or Fr. Klein, then you will hear the Year B readings. Just in case you're flipping through the readings wondering what reading we are using.
2) Soup Supper Questions: Just a reminder that the baskets for questions for our Virtual Soup Supper will be at the doors of the Church through the last Mass this weekend. Please feel free to submit any questions of faith that you might have for me to answer at our Virtual event on March 22 @ 7 pm.
3) Stations of the Cross: Thanks to Deacon Ken for his leading us in praying the Stations of the Cross each Friday during Lent @ 9 am. You can join us to pray them in person or there is a recorded version on our parish's YouTube page.
4) Holy Week: Look for a flyer in NEXT weekend's bulletin with the dates & times for our Holy Week observances. One change this year will be that the Passion of our Lord on Palm Sunday & Good Friday will be proclaimed SOLO by the Presider rather than in parts as we are used to. We are invited to listen & to reflect upon the Passion rather than watching for our next line. Also, there will be NO washing of the feet on Holy Thursday this year. We plan to return to the washing of the feet next year.
5) Finally, I know that I can sometimes become caught up in rushing back & forth between both parishes & can often appear rushed & not paying as much attention as I could/should. Please know that you can always feel free to reach out to me with thoughts/suggestions & I am working on finding better ways to balance my schedule. This truly is a learning experience.
