The Feast of the Annunciation
Did you know that Jesus did not become flesh at Christmas? He became flesh when Mary said "yes" at Gabriel's Annunciation! In the Church, we celebrate this 9 months before Christmas on March 25th, with the Feast of the Annunciation.
Human persons are fully human persons from the moment they are conceived in the womb, and Jesus, our Savior, is like us in all things except sin (Heb 4:14-16). This means that the Savior, was not only the cutest little baby in the world, but He was also an embryo and and developing baby in the womb of Mary!
Let's take this Thursday to offer thanks to our Lord for His profound humility in becoming the littlest of little ones; and to our Mother Mary for saying 'yes' to life, so that Life Himself would come to give us life eternal!
