Parish Update -- March 19, 2021 (The Solemnity of St. Joseph, husband of the Blessed Virgin Mary)
Dear Parishioners of St. Joseph and Corpus Christi:
Happy feast day! Since, today is St. Joseph's feast day, you don't have to abstain from meat. Have a burger or a steak and give thanks to God for an awesome parish and a great patron saint.
1. St. Joseph Altar -- Today, March 19, is the Feast of St. Joseph, husband of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Our St. Joseph Altar is set up. The Ladies Auxiliary have done a wonderful job. Thank you so much to all of you who helped!
We are asking people to bring some canned goods for the Food Pantry. They are in need of:
Canned Meat
Canned Tuna
Canned Chicken
Dried Beans
Peanut Butter and
Canned Fruit
(You can always bring these to the Church throughout the week also)
The Parish Hall will be open for another few hours, so you can come and offer a prayer intention, leave some non-perishable items for the Food Pantry, and take a St. Joseph Feast Day favor bag -- it will have a cookie or treat, a fava bean, an explanation of the history and tradition of the altar, and a prayer card.
This is a great opportunity for you and your family.
2. Baptisms! -- Congratulations to Nola Brasfield, the Daughter of Paul and Dayton Brasfield, who was baptized Saturday, March 13, 2021. Each Lily is $12. Please enclose with your full name, phone number and the name of the person(s) you wish to honor or memorialize into the envelope, and place it in the Sunday offering. You may also bring it to the Church office by Monday, March 29th.

Prayer to Saint Joseph
To you, O blessed Joseph, do we come in our afflictions, and having implored the help of your most holy Spouse, we confidently invoke your patronage also.
Through that charity which bound you to the Immaculate Virgin Mother of God and through the paternal love with which you embraced the Child Jesus, we humbly beg you graciously to regard the inheritance which Jesus Christ has purchased by his Blood, and with your power and strength to aid us in our necessities.
O most watchful guardian of the Holy Family, defend the chosen children of Jesus Christ; O most loving father, ward off from us every contagion of error and corrupting influence; O our most mighty protector, be kind to us and from heaven assist us in our struggle with the power of darkness.
As once you rescued the Child Jesus from deadly peril, so now protect God’s Holy Church from the snares of the enemy and from all adversity; shield, too, each one of us by your constant protection, so that, supported by your example and your aid, we may be able to live piously, to die in holiness, and to obtain eternal happiness in heaven. Amen.
