Easter Mass Schedule
Last year, we had no in-person Masses for Easter due to Covid. This year, we ARE moving forward and starting to come out of this pandemic, so we WILL have in-person celebrations of Mass for this great solemnity. However, it is hard to anticipate what attendance at our Easter Masses may look like. Many people are legitimately concerned about being among large crowds, and thus may opt not to attend Easter Mass in person. This is a valid option as there is currently, temporarily, no obligation to attend Mass (on Easter or at other times). However, this important aspect of entering into the true joy and meaning of Easter should not be simply ignored. There are a multitude of ways for one to join in the prayer of the Mass remotely through televised Masses as well as Masses that are streamed live through the internet. For those who DO wish to attend Mass in person, we are doing all that we can to allow that to happen but in as safe a manner as we can. Therefore, those wishing to attend Mass in person, for the Easter Vigil or Easter Day, need to be aware of the schedule and practices that will be in place, AND WILL NEED TO MAKE A RESERVATION.
In St. Catherine Labouré Parish, we will have the following schedule of Masses:
EASTER MASSES AT ST. JOAN OF ARC CHURCH
(All Masses will also be live streamed to Facebook or Vimeo)
PLEASE NOTE: These times are different from our regular Sunday Mass times in order to accommodate an additional Mass and still allow time between Masses to properly clean the church.
ALSO, each of the Masses at St. Joan will utilize additional seating in The Gathering Place (i.e. the social hall) where the Mass from the church can be seen and heard and Communion will be available.
Sunday, April 4 – Easter
EASTER MASSES AT ST. LOUISE DEMARILLAC CHURCH
(All Masses will also be live streamed to Facebook or Vimeo)
PLEASE NOTE: At the Easter Vigil Mass and the 8:00am Mass, the gym at St. Louise de Marillac School will be utilized for additional seating, where the Mass from the church can be seen and heard via the live-stream and Communion will be available. However, at both the 10:00am and the 12:00Noon Masses, the gym will have a full, separate, live Mass happening simultaneously to the Mass in the church.
Saturday, April 3 – Easter Vigil
Sunday, April 4 – Easter
- 8:00am
- 10:00am (Church)
- 10:00am (Gym)
- 12:00Noon (Church)
- 12:00Noon (Gym)
To protect against over crowding, for the safety of all who wish to attend, we will be observing limitations on the number of people who may attend our Masses in-person. Thus, we will be using a reservation system for ALL seating areas (i.e. the churches, the Gathering Place and the gym). This will not only help to allow for safe limits, but also provides the convenience of knowing before you come to church whether or not there is space available. If a Mass you plan to attend is full, then you have the option of selecting a different Mass (possible a different time or at the other church of our parish); participating at home via the live-stream; or checking availability at a neighboring parish.
(THE RESERVATION SYSTEM WILL NOT BE OPEN FOR USE UNTIL
NOON ON WEDNESDAY, 3/24.)
Although this system is not ideal, and it would be great to see standing-room-only crowds again in our churches, we are not at the point YET where that is safe. Hopefully, this will be the last major religious holyday when such precautions will be necessary. But for THIS solemnity of Easter....
we thank you in advance for
your cooperation and patience.
