MOMENT OF THE WEEK
On Thursday and Friday of this past week (and continuing tonight and tomorrow) we, as Catholics, celebrate our most holy time of the year, the Triduum, The summit of the Liturgical Year is the Easter Triduum—from the evening of Holy Thursday to the evening of Easter Sunday. Though chronologically three days, they are liturgically one day unfolding for us the unity of Christ's Paschal Mystery. The single celebration of the Triduum marks the end of the Lenten season, and leads to the Mass of the Resurrection of the Lord at the Easter Vigil.
GOSPEL REFLECTION QUESTIONS
Read the Readings from this Sunday, Palm Sunday
Acts 10:34a, 37-43; Psalm 118:1-2, 16-17, 22-23; Colossians 3:1-4; John 20:1-9
Use the following discussion/reflection questions in your families, with your spouse, your friends, or even as personal journal questions:
1. What do you think Mary of Magdala and the apostles were thinking when they arrived at the empty tomb? Look back at the Gospel. What evidence of Jesus’ Resurrection was left at the tomb?
2. Why do you think Jesus decided to leave an empty tomb as evidence of His Resurrection? Why didn’t He leave something more “showy” everyone would see?
3. God leaves evidence for the miracles He conducts in our lives. Do you have an example of this in your own life or in another story in Scripture?
4. Is there an “empty tomb” in your life — a place that seems as though God has left but, in reality, has not? Do you ever have a hard time giving thanks to God for that empty tomb?
WEEKLY WORSHIP
"I searched the world, but it couldn’t fill me. Man’s empty praise and treasures that fade are never enough. Then You came along and put me back together and every desire is now satisfied here in Your love. Oh there’s nothing better than You, there’s nothing better than You, Lord there’s nothing, nothing is better than You."
"I’m not afraid to show You my weakness, my failures and flaws, Lord You’ve seen them all and You still call me friend. ‘Cause the God of the mountain Is the God of the valley. There’s not a place Your mercy and grace won’t find me again."
"You turn mourning to dancing You give beauty for ashes You turn shame into glory You’re the only one who can." Elevation Worship
