Classes have begun! It was wonderful meeting so many students and parents this week and I look forward to getting to know all of you better throughout the coming year. As a parent you are the first catechist of your student, and we are here to help you along the way.
Adolescence is an exciting, and sometimes unsettling, time for both students and parents. Adolescents beginning to seek more freedom sometimes don't realize that with freedom comes responsibility. Decisions and choices become more significant! Journey will spend a good deal of time this year focusing on morality, as found in the Catechism of the Catholic Church, to guide decision making.
Parent opportunities to help the Journey program
With 150 middle school students in the Journey program we need lots of hands & eyes! Some of the opportunities to be involved in your child's faith formation include substitute during classes, chaperoning events, help with service & social opportunites, as well as, occasional office help.
Parent chaperones needed! Contact Julie to volunteer & witness your faith.
Family Mass this Sunday!
Sunday 10:30 AM Mass once a month will focus on children and families. Children and parents are invited to participate in many ways such as greeters, choir members, lectors, and more. This Sunday will be a trial run, come see & participate as a family.
CATHOLIC T-SHIRT
As we kick-off this Faith Formation year, we will be discussing how we can Be The Church outside of church...well, here is a start: a t-shirt!
You & your child could have one for $5 each. Available during classes.
