Church Renovation Update
We are making progress in the remediation and restoration project of our church. In order to accommodate the various phases of this project, It has been decided that we will remain in the Great Hall for Mass and the Sacraments until the restoration project of the church is completed. As the phases of this project are progressing, we should expect to return to the church in mid-summer. We truly appreciate your patience and cooperation throughout this process in anticipation of the blessed day of our return.
We have a marvelous opportunity to update our church home while repairs are being made. This will improve every aspect of the sanctuary to accommodate the Sacred Liturgy more effectively and provide a sacred space to promote the pastoral care provided by the Sacraments.
Some of the planned improvements are as follows:
- As you look at the Altar area to the left, the west part of the sanctuary will be the place for the musical instruments and choir. The east part, which is to the right, is where the baptismal font and paschal candle will be relocated from the east alcove.
- The two alcoves would then be places exclusively reserved for devotional statuary and the vigil candles.
- The seats of the new pews and the kneelers will remain cushioned. The equipment for the sound and live stream experience will be relocated to the back of the church.
- Additionally, two Confessionals will be created to provide ample and private spaces for the Sacrament of Penance.
