...they were teaching the people and proclaiming in Jesus the resurrection of the dead. (From Acts 4:1-12)
Do you notice what Peter and John aren’t doing? They’re not talking bad about other faiths or the other “side,” but simply sharing the truths and goodness and beauty of Christ. Is this how you choose to spread the Gospel or do you choose to put other faiths, denominations, political parties, and cultures down as a way to “win?” Let’s say you think you’re church is “right” when it comes to the faith...do you express the beauty, truth, and joy of what your church teaches or do you attack other churches as a way to make yours look better? Jesus never did this...Peter and John aren’t doing this...so why do we attack others and their beliefs? If you and your faith are beautiful and true, why talk bad about others instead of just spreading the joy of your own faith? This also applies to your politics...if your side is right and true, why spend so much time bashing the other side? When and why did we forget to spread beauty, truth, and love in favor of anger, confrontation, hatred, and cutthroat arguments? Spread the faith and your beliefs with compassion, kindness, and mercy, my sisters and brothers in Christ, for that is how Jesus, the Apostles, and St. Paul did it and we should do the same! Amen!
