God Forgives Us
Last week we talked about the Holy Spirit filling us with light and love, reminding us to pray and think about helping others. The Holy Spirit also helps us remember to do the right thing, which isn’t always easy. This At-Home Lesson includes a few pages from three different chapters.
1. Read page 190, The Holy Spirit Helps Us Avoid Evil. Please highlight or underline this sentence from Galatians at the top of the second column: “If the Spirit leads you, you will be full of love, joy, peace, kindness and goodness.”
Who doesn’t want that? Our Church makes this easy to do through the sacraments of the Eucharist and Reconciliation.
2.Read page 195, Jesus Forgave Peter and Forgiveness of Sins.Remember how Peter denied Jesus three times? What our text doesn’t tell is how Jesus forgave Peter. We can find that in
John 21:15 - 17. Please highlight or underline the second sentence under Forgiveness of Sins, “Sin is anything that separates us from God and from other people.”
3.So how do we know if we have sinned? Read page 198.
