New additions and improvements were in full swing around EC this week. New doors and windows were installed at the entrance of the auditorium. Additionally, preparations for the new landscaping began. Benches located on campus were repainted and new seats installed. Three similar benches will be incorporated into the landscaping allowing for seating outside the auditorium. Thank you to Steve McCoy '72, Bob Resar '83 and Tom Taylor '79 who painted and repaired these benches.
Thanks to an '85 Lorain Catholic alum and an '86 Elyria Catholic alum the largest addition was the Panther Pride Rock placed on the grounds outside the Chapel yesterday afternoon. We are looking forward to painting that during Friendship Week '17!
From Mrs. Lester There were a couple of exciting test results in Advanced Placement courses. Many colleges and universities grant college credit for AP test scores of three or higher. In the spring of 2017, 100% of tested AP Calculus students earned a score of 3 or higher on their Advanced Placement exam. On the AP English Literature and Composition exam, 94% of students earned a score of 3 or higher on the exam. Read more...

Calling all former EC Band members to play with the current band during the homecoming game Sept. 29th! After filling out the FORM, links to download all of the music will be available. Alumni band members should arrive at 5:00 pm on Friday, September 29th wearing jeans and a green shirt/spirit wear.
Guidance News On Tuesday, September 26th, the Counseling Department will be hosting a Financial Aid Night from 6-7:00 PM in the Library. We will be joined by Cathy Belifore, Assistant Director of Financial Aid from Oberlin College. This is for senior parents who are interested in learning more about the FAFSA and Financial Aid. Please remember that you can begin filling the FAFSA on October 1st.

AP Government & Politics students attended a celebration of Constitution Day last Friday at Ashland University's Ashbrook Center. The guest of honor was Chad Readler, Asst. Attorney General of the Department of Justice.
James Kelling and Angelina Ingalls, both seniors represented Elyria Catholic at the Elyria Rotary Club's Tuesday luncheon. They spoke about their activiteis at EC and their goals for the future. They are seen here with President Don Boddy and Mr. Sam Battle.
