On Mother's Day weekend (May 8 and 9, this year), we invite you to join us in offering a spiritual bouquet to Our Blessed Mother, seeking her intercession and thanking her for her maternal, loving care.
In church: Please bring a note card with your prayer intentions and/or a flower to place before the statue of Mary, outside if weather permits, inside if not, at the end of each Mass on Mother's Day weekend.
At home: Place flowers and prayer intentions before a statue or picture of the Blessed Virgin Mary in your home on Mother's Day weekend. Please consider sharing pictures from home with others in our parishes by sending them to
Bridget for the bulletin and/or
Fr. Scott for social media. See examples below from the rectory!
Participate in church, at home, or both!
As we celebrate the gift of mothers and honor Our Blessed Mother, we also recognize that Mother's Day can be a difficult holiday for many. We hope this spiritual and floral bouquet provides an opportunity to pray for the intentions brought to your heart by Mother's Day.
The video above introduces you to the ministry of A Woman's Concern - Your Options Medical, for whom our parishes will have a Mother's Day to Father's Day Baby Bottle Fundraiser. How should Christians respond to women and couples facing an unplanned pregnancy without accurate information and support? For 28 years A Woman’s Concern – Your Options Medical has answered that question by providing no cost life-affirming pregnancy confirmation services to women and couples facing an unplanned pregnancy, especially those without accuarte information and support. Their confidential and non-judgmental services include pregnancy testing, ultrasounds, options counseling, parenting classes, post abortion counseling and ongoing emotional and material support all at no cost. They strive to provide their clients with truthful information concerning their preborn child and hope by so doing that they will recognize the child in their womb is a beautiful gift from the Lord. Our parishes will be participating in a Mother's Day to Father's Day Baby Bottle Campaign to support A Woman’s Concern – Your Options Medical. Individuals and families will have the opportunity to respond to the issue of Life. On Mother's Day, we will be distributing baby bottles for you to take home, fill with cash, checks, and change and bring them back to the Mass on Father's Day weekend (June 19 and 20, this year). Our financial support will help to make these services available free of cost to those who are in need of support and guidance in the fight for life! If you decide to give a donation by check, please make the check out to A Woman’s Concern.
