UPCOMING EVENTS:
- MOTHER'S DAY COLLECTIONS FOR BIRTHRIGHT: Volunteers at Birthright of Humble are verifying pregnancy tests, providing counseling and encouragement, and referring women to healthcare and other resources. They are also providing material help for babies which are needed by women with fewer resources to help themselves than ever before. The St Martha’s Knights of Columbus will collect items for babies on Saturday, May 8 from 10am-2pm in front of the Family Life Center. For a list of items needed or for more information, click HERE. If you cannot shop, monetary donations are accepted. This will help shortages of items in much demand by families struggling with need for food and baby supplies.
- PROCESSION OF OUR LADY OF GAUDALUPE: Our Parish will have a Procession of Our Lady of Guadalupe on May 9, after the 5 pm Mass in the front parking lot of the Church! Please join us in this grace filled procession to honor our Heavenly Mother, Patroness of the Americas!
- PARISH BLOOD DRIVE: The 2nd Parish Blood Drive for 2021, sponsored by the Knights of Columbus, is scheduled for Sunday, May 16, from 8am until 1:45pm at the Activity Center on Woodland Hills Drive. The Knights of Columbus will be in the Narthex before and after each Mass on May 1-2 and May 8-9 to assist you with an appointment so that you may donate. You may schedule an appointment by emailing jnd.gurka@gmail.com or call Darien Gurka at (713) 628-0373. Online appointments may be scheduled by visiting www.giveblood.org. REMINDERS:
- There has been an increase in reports of individuals impersonating Fr. TJ soliciting donations, normally in the form of gift cards. Please note, our priests would never make such an appeal. If you receive a fraudulent text or email, file a complaint with the attorney general’s Consumer Protection Division by calling toll free 1-800-621-0508.
- K of C Tamales: St. Martha’s Knights of Columbus will be offering their great tasting TAMALES after all Masses on Sunday, May 2, or until sold out. Tamales are frozen and packaged for take home. Click HERE for more information.
- “Streets of Cartagena” Concert & Colombian Meal: Join us on Saturday, May 22, at 7 pm, as music bursts from every corner and the scents of delicious Caribbean food waft along the streets. Bring your lawn chairs and join us on the plaza in front of the church as we watch live from the big screen or watch our livestream from home. Click HERE for more information.
