Hello everyone! Next week is the last week of April already- it is crazy how fast the end of the year is approaching! Friday (4/30) is a full day of school. Please make sure you are checking folders because a lot of important forms and information is coming home.
Summer School- Summer school forms were sent out last week, and have a VERY firm deadline to be turned in by May 3rd. We cannot accept any forms later than that, so if you are planning on having your kiddo attend summer school, please get that in as soon as possible.
Midterms- Midterms went home today, so be on the lookout for those. They do not need to be returned.
Shirt Forms- Field Day t-shirt forms went home yesterday. Those also have a firm deadline of April 30th, which is next Friday. We would love if everyone ordered one, and was able to wear them it for Field Day!
Water Bottles- Only a couple students are consistently bringing water bottles. While I keep extra cups here for water, it is much easier for students to have their bottles to fill up themselves. Also, we tend to spill our cups, which makes a mess! So, please be mindful of sending water bottles with your kiddo.
What we are working on this week...
Reading- Our stories this week are "Duck and Fox" (qu and -x), "Kip and Kelp" (final l and t blends), and "Zeke's Big Date" (long vowels). We have moved up to having 10 spelling words instead of 6! I am excited for this new challenge and I know the kiddos will continue to do excellent. Our new spelling words are quack, brain, string, chum, blink, hallway, whisk, joke, four, and there. I know the words are silly, but each word works on a different skill that we have learned.
Math- Chapter 12 is a longer one, so we are continuing to make our way through it. Next week, we will look at breaking shapes apart into other shapes and combining shapes to see what we can make. We will also be discussing halves and fourths.
Have a great weekend!
