Dear friends,
First, my apologies on Saturday's e-mail, meant for a family who just had a Baptism, but inadvertently sent to many more...
When we live-stream Baptisms, we usually utilize the Private feature. Given the dispersal of their video's URL, it has been removed from the website and stored locally for the family. Apologies for the inconvenience it caused many, but thank you for your thoughtful e-mails wishing the family well!
Second, the family of Father Thomas Lynch inform me that he is now in Rehab - praise God!
Let us pray for his continued strength, perseverance, progression and health!
The purpose of their visit is to consider whether or not their community would like to send some Sisters to our House of Prayer.
The presence and witness of consecrated women in our parish is a blessing, and one that I believe bears great spiritual fruit and grace. It would also be providential if the decades-long apostolate of the House of Prayer as a charismatic center and place for evangelization would continue.
Please pray for the guidance of the Holy Spirit on both the part of the Disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ and on our part at the parish for a wise decision in Jesus.
Sister Nancy would like to share with the parish the planned visit of Sr. Joan and Sr. Juana Teresa this week:
- On Monday afternoon Sr. Mary Tommasino and Sr. Nancy Kellar will meet with them to share the history of the House of Prayer, their personal histories and to hear their stories.
- On Tuesday, Mass in planned for the 4 Sisters in the House of Prayer.
- On Wednesday, following the 9 o’clock Mass and Rosary, people will be invited to visit the Sisters for coffee and buns at the House of Prayer. In the evening, Father BiIl Cosgrove, of the Archdiocese of New York Charismatic Renewal, will join the Sisters for prayer and supper. I also hope to be in attendance. A visit to the HSOR evening (High School of Religion Program) is in the works.
- On Thursday there will be a morning of prayer for praise at 10:00 am. Also, the New York Service Team for Catholic Charismatic Renewal will come for prayer and zoom meeting with the Sisters from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon. In the evening from 6:30 to 8:30 pm, there will be an opportunity for various peoples and groups to meet the Sisters: priests, the rectory staff, the meal train people, the dog walkers etc. for dessert.
- On Friday Sr. Mary Tommasino departs the House of Prayer in the morning. The Sisters of the Disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ will enjoy some NYC sightseeing with Sisters.
Please feel free to introduce yourselves to Sr. Joan and Sr. Juana Teresa!
Have a blessed week!
