Parish Update -- May 1, 2021 - St. Joseph the Worker
Dear Parishioners of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Corpus Christi:
Covid Protocols -- Though, the mask mandate will be lifted in the City of Starkville on May 1, the Diocese of Jackson has not lifted it's mandate. Though many have been vaccinated, this seems to be out of concern for the newer strains and for the number of people gathered in one space. Protocols may adapt very soon, but as of the present moment, not much has changed for Mass.
Ladies Auxiliary -The Ladies Auxiliary are having a bake sale. You can find the order form by clicking the button below. Proceeds will help sponsor the their yearly scholarship for a senior in High School.
Knights of Columbus Pancake Breakfast - This Sunday the Knights of Columbus will have a scaled down version of our First Sunday Vocation Breakfast. They will serve chocolate chip, blueberry, and plain pancakes with bacon (to go only).
Parish Council Elections -- Ballots will be available May 9 at the 9 AM and 11:30 AM Masses. The candidates are: Karen Arzamendi, Dr. Lance Atchley, Barbara Coates, Scott Comish, Carrie Couvillion, Janet Downey, Catherine Failla, and Sarah Fratesi. Four will be elected from the list of eight. Each parishioner will have an opportunity to vote for four candidates. A special thanks to Glenn Schmidt, outgoing president; Rosy Taquino; Tom Simmonds; and Hillary Smith who have each served for the past three years. Members remaining on will be Chris House, President; Flo Henley, Kathryn Barbier, and GiGi Holmes.
Peace,
Fr. Jason
