Being Brave Brainstorming Meeting
Wednesday, May 5, there will be a meeting to take the next step in ministering to those that are marginalized in our community. We will spend time brainstorming ideas and resource identifying within our community. The meeting will be in HUM Hall from 6-7:30pm. Anyone is welcome to join us! You need not have read the Becoming Brave book or have experience in this kind of ministry.

Hopkins FFA Alumni Chicken Dinners
Drive Thru Chicken BBQ - $12/meal
Saturday, May 8th from 4-7pm at Hopkins High School
Sponsored by the Hopkins FFA Alumni.
The meal includes half a chicken, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, coleslaw, roll and dessert.
ISO Ad Board Secretary
The Ad Board is in need of a recording Secretary. The Secretary is responsible for being at meetings and writing down what happens, typing it up and submitting them to be printed for the next meeting. If you have been thinking about wanting to step up into a leadership role, this is a great foot in the door!
Summer Worship Schedule
On Pentecost, May 23, we will officially start our Summer Worship Schedule: 10am at Common Ground, together with both churches. Bring your chairs and we will spread out around the yard and join together in a more casual worship setting in God's creation!
As part of celebrating Pentecost we will be offering baptism for anyone who has yet to be baptized and would like to be. We have had many babies join our church family, but adults are also welcome. Talk with Pastor Kelsey if you would like yourself or your child to be baptized!
Pastor Kelsey would like to meet with those doing a baptism once to answer any questions about baptism, share some reminders of what baptism means in the UMC, and explain how the baptism will go on that Sunday.
Food Pantry Donation Needs

The needs right now are: macaroni & cheese, potatoes, pasta, and canned fruit. Drop off Wednesedays from 10am to 1pm and 5pm to 7pm. Bring them to church or contact Mitzi or Pastor Linda about a drop off time.

COVID numbers continue to be on the rise in Michigan and Allegan County.
The county's risk level continues to be in the "critical" risk category with a 7 day average positivity rate of 19% (on the verge of the 20% threshold to put us in the highest risk zone) and case numbers above 60 per 100K in the last 5 days (putting us in the critical zone, below the highest level at greater than 75) All as of this data is as of 4/14 and pulled from the state website and this national COVID data site.
As we have been watching the COVID situation in our area for a few weeks now, the Ad Board discussed how we should go forward for worship during Monday's meeting. We decided that barring major change post-Spring Break, we will continue offering in-person worship at both sites and live Zoom from the Hopkins Sunday service.
That said, to continue inside we MUST do all we can to decrease the risk of spread among our church family when we gather. We are continuing with our tightened COVID restrictions that we had started before Easter. The main safety precautions are: no singing, windows will be open and the heat cranked up, and continuing to support the usual restrictions (masks, social distancing, hand sanitizer on your way in and out, etc.).
The detailed/expanded list of precautions can be found on the church website in the March 25 update post. A reminder email will be going out on Saturday as well.
