Dear Parents,
This Sunday is the final opportunity for in-person classes with Religious Education this year. Find out information on how your child can join the 2nd grade class or the 3-8th grade class in the bottom section of this email.
But I am writing today most importantly to ask your help. Saint Andrew has done its very best to make it through the pandemic and serve your family with spiritual resources to give hope and encouragement through this difficult time. While the parish is not in an eminent crisis, a primary reason we survived this last year was in part because our major fundraiser happened before the pandemic shut everything down. We had the funds to stay afloat for which I am grateful.
This year, our annual fundraiser is coming up this Saturday, May 1, 2021 at 7:00pm.
We need to do as well as have in the past or better to continue to serve families to our best ability. I always recognize that you do indeed pay tuition for Religious Education and we offer support to those who cannot pay, but I need to be honest. To keep the program running, the parish always provides a significant subsidy. Tuition does not pay all of our expenses for the program which are mostly the staff's salaries and most my salary. We need your ongoing support.
I hope you have seen the advertisements for our virtual
Wearin' the Green but if you have not, please consider being part of this crucial fundraising event for our parish. There is a goal in the evening to raise $100,000 in outright donations as well as the desire to do well in our live auction, silent auction, and raffles. There is a lot of fun to be had during the evening including comedian Pat McGann for those who buy an admission ticket.
My personal ask is for you participate in this fundraiser in a way most befitting of your personal situation at this time.
The main broadcast is free to watch and I will send you a link to that in an invitation shortly, but your support by purchasing an admission ticket or buying a raffle ticket goes a long way. If you can, join in the bidding. Either you will get the item you want or your bid will cause others to increase their bids. If you can, make a donation to help us get to $100,000. Anything you can do will help us out.
I am deeply grateful for you and your support. I'll write again next week with final steps as we close out our academic year of Religious Education.
Thank you and God Bless!
David Heimann
