April 29, 2021 - Eucharist Miracle at OLHOC!
Last weekend, there was much excitement at OLHOC! Let me quote some of the words used or texted: “Wow Father. What a great blessing. No doubt it is a Eucharistic miracle! ...God is great: Eucharistic Miracle in "my church"...God's name be forever praised. MY LORD and MY GOD! Love Eucharistic Adoration...What a great miracle, somehow my Faith is ignited and in full blast. Hallelujah, Ave Maria! Awesome, Our powerful God.”
What was this all about? The possibility that a Eucharistic Miracle had happened at OLHOC. First, one of our volunteer sacristans had sent to some parishioners a picture of a consecrated host that had been found on the floor of our church and had been disposed of in a vessel with water in the sacrarium of our sacristy. As the host was almost dissolved...

Congratulations to the 34 youth who received the Sacrament of Confirmation this past Friday, April 23rd with Bishop Dorsonville as the main celebrant! Many thanks to all who have assisted with their preparation in any way. Please continue to keep the youth of the parish in your prayers! On April 15, 2021, OLHOC helped prepare and distribute a hot dinner to 125 people at Shepherd’s Table. Many thanks go to our menu coordinator, Delores Cacciaglia and all the volunteers who made this event a success.
Feast of Our Lady of Fatima
May 13 is the celebration of the feast of Our Lady of Fatima.
Our Lady first appeared to three children in Fatima, Portugal on May 13, 1917.
When they took their sheep out to a pasture, known as Cova da Iria (Cove of Peace), they saw “A lady, clothed in white, brighter than the sun, radiating a light more clear and intense than a crystal cup filled with sparkling water lit by burning sunlight.”
She told them not to be afraid, she came from heaven. Our Lady told them to offer themselves to God, and to say the Rosary every day to bring peace to the world and end the war (WW1). She appeared on the 13 of each month for six months.
This advice is still relevant for us today.
For those who did not have the opportunity, the total consecration to St. Joseph will begin again on May 19, ending on Father’s Day, Sunday June 20. You can follow along on YouTube with Father Alain and Father Ben daily.

Retired Flags and Religious articles
The Knights of Columbus, along with local Catholic Churches will retire worn flags and religious articles at the end of May at St. Josephs in Pomfret. There is a bin by the office door, if you have anything you need disposed of properly, please put it in that bin. We will collect items through May 23, 2021

HELP KEEP OUR CHURCH CLEAN
Since last year, OLHOC cut back on many of the services we use to pay for. Due to financial restraints, the lawn maintenance is all done by volunteers, we no longer have a staff person to help out with the facilities, and we cut back on our cleaning services to once a week. Please do your part in helping to keep our church clean.
