4/30/21
We are entering May next week! This year truly does seem to have gone by so quickly.
Our last early-out Friday, will be next Friday, May 7th.
We had a few books checked out by students in our class in March, that Mrs. Blakeney told me about. If you have them at home please send them back, I'll also do a thorough check of our classroom library to make sure they were not misplaced. The books are:
Steam, Smoke, and Steel: Back in Time With Trains
Planters
The Case of the Lost Boy
Math-
Next week, we'll measure and estimate length in feet, and yards. They will also work with a line plot.
Reading-
We'll begin our last two week reading lesson next week with a story titled "The Goat in the Rug." The spelling list will go home Monday and they will not take the test until May 14th. This is a narrative non-fiction story written in a fun way, and tells about how Navajo rugs are made. Students will focus on drawing conclusions and summarizing. They will also continue working on their informational report and hopefully have it organized.
During science, students will learn some new vocabulary and how liquids can be described. For our social studies time, we will look at renewable and non-renewable resources. The class will see how resources were gathered long ago and how they are gathered today. Please let me know if you have any questions. Have a great weekend!
