BEFORE I FORMED YOU IN THE WOMB I KNEW YOU: A Pastoral Letter on the Human Dignity of the Unborn, Holy Communion, and Catholics in Public Life was released May 1. This is the first pastoral letter by Archbishop Cordileone and it addresses four main areas: The gravity of the evil of abortion; cooperation in moral evil; the meaning of choosing to receive the Holy Eucharist; and the responsibilities of Catholics in public life.
NEW! This FRIDAY, May 7, Archbishop Salvatore J. Cordileone will discuss his pastoral letter with Patricia Sandoval, EWTN host, speaker, and author of Transfigured. The FREE event, “Archbishop Cordileone in conversation with Patricia Sandoval” will be 1-2:30 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time. Sandoval suffered abortions, homelessness and abuse before finding her way back to the Lord. Sandoval is a woman wounded by abortion and healed. She will host the first Zoom Event to discuss with the Archbishop the topics he addresses in his pastoral letter “BEFORE I FORMED YOU IN THE WOMB I KNEW YOU: A Pastoral Letter on the Human Dignity of the Unborn, Holy Communion, and Catholics in Public Life.” Cosponsored by Human Life Action and the Archdiocese of San Francisco.
On May 2, Archbishop Cordileone offered Mass in Spanish at St. Peter Church in the Mission District of San Francisco. His homily explaining why he wrote the letter was l
ivestreamed here. Lorena Rojas has written a blog post, published in Spanish and in English, on the letter and the reaction of the people. (Photo by Dennis Callahan/Archdiocese of San Francisco)
