Dear Holy Family,
With the new guidance issued by the CDC and the Governor, the Archbishop has issued a memo that effective immediately churches in western Oregon can now allow fully vaccinated people to attend Masses and faith gatherings without wearing masks or social distancing.
Starting this weekend of May 15/16, Holy Family will implement these eased restrictions in honor system, trusting that those who present themselves without mask to attend Church are affirming that they are fully vaccinated. (One is fully vaccinated when at least two weeks have passed from the second shot of the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines [and one shot of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine].) Those who are not fully vaccinated are still required to wear masks and maintain 6 feet of distance between households. Those who are fully vaccinated who may want to wear mask and socially distance at church are welcome to do so. The corded pews in the Church will be designated for those who have and/or may want to observe the mask and the social distancing requirements. Those who are fully vaccinated who wants to continue wearing mask and wish to seat with the rest of the congregation are allowed to do so as well.
The memo also noted that the percentage of capacity limits for churches, previously at 50%, are no longer in force. We will continue however with the sanitation of our pews after celebrations and provide masks for those who would like to wear them.
If you would like to read the full memo, it is attached. Thank you.
Blessings,
Fr. Rodel
