Dear Holy Family Parish (COVID Update Group),
As you already know, starting earlier this month, Holy Family Parish discontinued temperature scanning. More relaxation of pandemic protocols are taking place this week and more are forthcoming.
Thursday, May 13, the CDC announced that fully vaccinated people no longer need to wear a mask in most settings. The state of Pennsylvania has adopted these recommendations effective immediately.
Therefore, in continued alignment with local, state, and federal health guidelines, effective immediately, the fully vaccinated may attend Diocese of Pittsburgh Masses and all gatherings on parish property without wearing a mask.
“Fully vaccinated” is defined as being 2 weeks after a second dose in a 2-dose series, such as the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, or 2 weeks after a single-dose vaccine, such as Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccine. People who don’t meet those requirements are not considered fully vaccinated and must keep taking all precautions.
Per CDC and State Guidelines, those who are not fully vaccinated are to wear masks.
At this point, federal and state directives on eliminating social distancing do not go into effect until May 31, 2021.
Let's keep praying for those who are suffering from COVID and for safety and health in our communities.
In Christ,
Father Kevin
