Parish Update -- May 21, 2021, bulletin attached...and more
Dear Parishioners of St. Joseph and Corpus Christi:
1. Congratulations to Corey and Alex Lummus on the baptism of their daughter, Camryn, last Saturday. Also to Savannah and Kasper Eriksen on the baptism of their daughter, Madelynne, on Sunday. Congratulations to Nancy and Felipe Ramos on the baptism of their son, Santiago Ramos, who was also baptized on Sunday.
2. New Protocols -- Please see the new protocols below from the Diocese of Jackson.
A few specific items of note: The mandate to wear a mask to Mass has been lifted. Please see the protocols below regarding the specific details. Communion on the Tongue -- If you would like to receive Holy Communion on the tongue, you may do so, but please wait and come toward the end of the Communion line. Also, both the nursery and cry rooms are now available.
6. Parish Survey -- The button below is the link to the parish survey/census. Letters went out to all parishioners this week. The letter includes your family household identifier. The deadline for the survey is Midnight June 6th.
8. Catechesis of the Good Shepherd -- There will be an information session on Sunday June 6 at 3 PM in the Parish Hall. Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is a Catholic Montessori (or student-led) style of Sunday school. In this type of class, the teacher does not teach the whole class time. Rather, the teacher briefly introduces children to religious models (or toys aka 'works'), and the children are invited to learn on their own. Topics include everything from specific Scripture passages to the liturgical year and role playing the Mass.
9.
Amazon Smile -- A reminder that we are now established as an Amazon Smile organization. When you click the link below and choose St. Joseph as your preferred charity, it will benefit Campus Ministry at Mississippi State University. After that, go to
Smile.Amazon.com at every purchase and 0.5% of eligible purchases will come back to CCM at Mississippi State University.

10. Stained Glass Windows -- The next two windows, St. John Henry Newman and Sr. Thea Bowman are in the final stages at Pearl River Glass in Jackson and should be installed this coming week.
Peace,
Fr. Jason
