I have had a few parents ask for a copy of the comments I prepared for graduation about students. I have loved teaching the Class of 2028. They are a great group of kids. I look forward to watching them grow as they head to middle school, and high school. Trust me parents, the time goes by so quickly.
Last year after 36 years of teaching at the middle school, I retired. Little did I know that I would be back teaching full time, but I am thrilled to be teaching here at St. James with this fifth grade class. They are a wonderful group of students. I would like to give each of them an award.
Kylee Glover - Kylee is my helper. She is always willing to help me in any way that I need. When I first started, she was willing to explain procedures or tell me where things were. She continued to do this until the end of the year. I am very thankful for her help.
Tyler Lukavsky - Tyler is one of my enthusiastic learners. He is always on task, listening and volunteering. He wants to learn, he asks questions and offers his opinion. He wants to learn and will go far with his great attitude.
Diana Marcelino - Diana always gave me great effort. She never complained and completed her work with a smile on her face. If she did not understand something, she would ask me. So Diana gets the outstanding effort award.
Marco Marcelino - Marco also gets the outstanding effort award. When I started teaching here, Marco started to work very hard completing his work on time, participating in class and always giving his best effort.
Melody Mei- Melody is kind to everyone. Melody was always willing to work with anyone, to help anyone or to play with anyone including all of the younger kids. I do not think there is a student who would not call Melody a good friend. She has truly been good friends to all students here at St. James.
Cecelia Mitchell - Cecelia gets the always smiling award. Cecelia enters the classroom every day with a smile on her face and ready to work. She is willing to tackle just about everything we do and never complains. If someone needs help, she is there to help them. If someone needs a friend, she is there to stand beside them. So Cecelia receives the great Smile award.
Chris Overstreet - Chris is another one of my enthusiastic learners. He always has his hand up and answers questions and volunteers to help in any way that he is needed. While I am teaching, I can almost see his brain working. He is always thinking and wanting to learn more. He asks great questions and always wants to do more or learn more. He is an excellent student.
Nathan Schrock - Nathan gets the Always Volunteer award. Nathan is another one of my students who has his hand up for every question. He is listening and knows the answers. If I or someone else needs help, he is willing to do whatever needs to be done. So he gets the great volunteer award.
Tate Sheetz - Tate gets the Morning Person award. Tate arrives early with his mother every morning and always has a smile on his face and is ready to go. He is wide awake, full of energy and ready to work. If something needs to be done, he does it with a smile on his face. He is a planner and an organizer and he is not afraid to work hard to get something done.
Noah Sweeting - Noah is another student that gets along well with all students. He is quiet and he works hard. If someone needs his help, he is not afraid to jump in and do his part. He willingly works with all students and is kind to everyone.
Kenzie Thomas - Kenzie got the Volunteer award. Kenzie has her hand up for every question. She volunteers to help complete all tasks that need to be done. She is on task, eager to learn and works hard to accomplish all activities and work.
Jaxon Tinnes - Jaxon gets the helping hand award. Jaxon is always willing to lend a helping hand. Whether it is a student or a staff member, Jaxon is willing to help. Jaxon is excellent with younger children and was great with all of our reading buddies. It’s great to watch him with people that need someone to just listen to him or give them a helping hand when they are frustrated or wanting to give up.
